The Suitable 'Verse
Powerful noble families known as the beat-of-fours, answerable only to a ruler and the mysterious, godlike fae, scheme and squabble amongst themselves, and go to war for the chance to put one of their own on the throne. But the fae might be pulling more strings than the nobles realize and they definitely have their favorites. A series of love stories loosely centered around the political crisis that led to the current ruler, featuring oblivious librarians, crafty though loving kings, an innocent half-fae noble, a legendary outlaw turned conqueror, worried warriors, clever guards, and an infamous beauty.

Normally calm-and-centered Westin is pushing forty, the general retirement age for an outguard, but leaving the guards means he'd leave Sun. And though he knows the younger outguard doesn't regard their relationship as anything other than casual, the idea of losing even that has Westin aching. That is, until realizing that perhaps pretty, bratty Sun is anything but casual about him.

The Suitable 'Verse stories can potentially be read in any order. In fact, I am sure some people picked a random to begin, and that's fine. Though each book does often contain references to other books in the series, or Easter Eggs, those are really just treats for people who've read them all. But since people have expressed an interest in a "correct" reading order, I would say there are two. But everything is centered around A Suitable Consort. That's the keystone story.
One-- the order in which they were written, which is the order I've listed them on this page, top to bottom. You learn about the world as I did, essentially. lol
Two-- the chronological order of events. (This is the one people seem to want. Or at least be able to reference.) So:
